The Alamanda flower

Here in Mauritius, since these last few years you can see yellow alamanda shrubs everywhere, as in the picture above..on the sides of roads..the centre thing of round-abouts..almost everywhere i go i seem to see yellow alamandas these days..

But today i saw a red alamanda for the first time..wanna have a look? :) here it is..

Do you know of other colours of alamanda? Do let me know if yes.. :)

Yet another new type of piercing?

Yeah you read it right..it seems James Sooy has invented this new type of piercing. Well at first glance, what exactly is the picture about may not be too obvious.. But then if you look clearly you'll notice that the glasses has been pierced through the cartilage at the top of the nose, and when you don't want to use it you just flip it 90 degrees upwards.. Does that mean you can't remove it when you wish??..like any normal piercing?

When I first saw that, i was like 'what the hell are people going to invent?' and 'who will ever wear those?'.. i mean i won't. Will YOU?.. But it seems it is aimed for 'piercing addicts'..people who are cool about piercings..

Well let's wait and see what happens.. :)

D Programming language..

Despite being a computer science student for soon 4 years it is only about one month ago that i came across this programing language. I had heard of C, C++ and C# but D..not at all.. I even asked a friend..well boyfriend :) if HE knows about that language, since he's usually got more knowledge than me about things, but i got a negative answer.

So i decided to do some searches on Google and try to find out what exactly is D, the programming language.. and.. Tada! :) this is what i found out (a short summary) :

D is a superset of C
It was designed by Walter Bright.
D has been highly (not entirely) influenced by C/C++ but it also has some concepts used in other programming languages such as Java, C# and Eiffel.
It is a general purpose systems and applications programming languages.
Despite it being a higher level language than C++, it retains the ability to write code for operating systems.

I think not many people are aware of this programming language as it is quite new. The first stable version 1.0 was released on the 2nd January 2007. A version 2.0 has also been released.

Also it seems experts(computer programmers etc) are saying that the next big language might be D..that is to take over C++.

Look up folks..

A large US spy satellite is no longer under control and could leave orbit, thus crashing down on Earth in late February or March. But where it will crash is not known yet.

Experts are saying it will not do much difference to use a missile and blow up the satellite because that would cause debris which will still fall down to Earth.

Moreover, the experts are also worried that US secrets might be exposed if "other" people get access to the satellite when it comes down. The satellite contains beryllium. That's a metal used in defense and aerospace industries because it is light and very resistant to heat.

This is not the first time that an uncontrolled spacecraft is coming back to Earth. In 1979, the 78 ton Skylab, an abandoned space station, fell back to Earth, showering debris into the Indian Ocean and part of western Australia.

Could such "incidents" impact the Earth? What if the materials found on the crafts (some are hazardous, some might be 'contaminated' by other materials from space) mix up in nature, resulting in mutated wildlife? Watch out for Godzilla lol.. :)

Believe in UFOs and aliens or not?

Personally, i keep an open mind about it. Like, some people say that the "nearest places they could come from are too far".. But you can't exclude that maybe they got the technology to travel that much.

Just like a few decades back, who would have thought that PCs would be able to have terabytes of storage? Same thing here. Maybe we just can't think of the technology they might possess. Or maybe the guys trying to debunk the sightings are right and we are condemned to remain alone on our little Earth.. poor Earthlings ;(
